ACCORDING TO THE GOSPEL, JESUS RODE INTO THE CITY ON A DONKEY, BUT WHY A DONKEY?

In the Eastern tradition, the donkey is the animal of peace and the horse is the animal of war.

 

If a king came riding into a city on a horse the citizens knew he was coming to make war.  If he rode in on a donkey they knew it was a peaceful visit.
