Today is LEFTOVERS DAY!

Rita sent a ton of leftover turkey and other stiff home with me yesterday.  I'll be eating those for the next couple of days so I won't have to cook.

Thanks to Rita and Roger for a great Easter dinner!

I would have to say Rita outdid herself with the turkey.  I would never have thought a turkey done in the crockpot would be any good but she got a recipe from someone and it was DELICIOUS!  I brought plenty of it home so I'll have plenty for sandwiches this week.

Renee was there too and she's always great company so I would say Easter 2014 was a success.

I took some pictures but, unfortunately, I got super frustrated trying to remember how to get the pictures from the camera to the computer and ended up deleting them rather than saving them.

GRRRRRRRR!!

EASTER ON THE FARM

I'm going up to Rita and Roger's with Renee this morning.....unless we get a better offer along the way.

I hope the Easter Bunny arrives before the rain does!

HAPPY EASTER BUNNY STUFF

A man is driving along a highway when a rabbit jumps out across the middle of the road and right in front of the car.

The driver, being an animal lover, pulls over to check on the bunny who, sadly, is dead and discovers it's actually the Easter Bunny!

A beautiful blonde woman drives by, sees the man crying by the side of the road and stops to see if she can help.

The man explains, to her, what happened.  The blonde runs to her car pulls out a spray can and sprays the rabbits body with the contents in the can.

The Easter Bunny jumps up, waves his paw and hops off down the road.  He gets about 10 feet away, stops, turns around and waves to them.  He hops another 10 feet, turns and waves to them.  Another 10 feet he stops, turns and waves to them.

The man can't believe his eyes and asks the lady what was in the spray can.

She hands the can to the man showing him the label which says, "Hair spray.  Restores life to dead hair and adds a permanent wave."

THE CHURCH DRUNK

This should prepare you for church this morning.

ANOTHER EASTER

Roger's kids, when they were little tykes, coloring Easter eggs.  One of those "little kids", Renee, is now a big kid and she'll be celebrating Easter with us.

APRIL 20 EASTER SUNDAY

HAPPY EASTER
This is the most breathtaking performance of the most joyous music ever written that I have ever heard from the most beautiful theater in America.

HERE'S A QUESTION I HEARD ASKED TODAY

"What's Easter without Peeps?"

I didn't have an answer.

YUKKY FOOD

The traditional Greek Easter Soup has, as its main ingredient, lamb gizzards.  I hope Rita doesn't plan on serving that tomorrow.  It sounds almost as gross as lutefisk.

I THINK I'LL DO THIS TO RITA AND ROGER'S TREES TOMORROW

A WET EASTER BUNNY??

It's beginning to look like miserable weather for the Easter weekend.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised.  So far, the entire spring has been a miserable mess.

The forecast is now calling for rain tomorrow night through Monday.  Not much in the way of sun until Tuesday.

EASTER WEATHER

FINALLY! A BEAUTIFUL DAY!
We start the Easter weekend with a sunny Friday and a high around 55.  If you're heading out of town for the holiday, this is a good driving day.

Tomorrow we'll have to deal with wind gusts to 25 MPH but the temperature will be almost perfect with a high of 70.

Now, the bad news.  Easter Sunday will be close to 70 again but we'll have to dodge the raindrops.  Our chance for Easter rain is 70%.

GOOD ONE!

COLORING EASTER EGGS

Roger sent this picture from the 1960's of three kids coloring easter eggs.  I had no idea who they were until he told me.  Then I could pick them out right away.
They're Rogers kids; Rhonda, Renee and Rick.  Such a cute picture!

LET'S DO BRUNCH

Forget the cooking and the mess and the clean up.  RITA tells me that she and KATHY have decided we'll do brunch for EASTER this year.  Sounds good to me.

Easter reminds me of the year that Rita, DONNIE and I decided to color Easter eggs.  I'm sorry I don't have any pictures of that mess.
