You won't spend much time in Texas without coming in contact with Blue Bell ice cream. It is so good that it, alone, is reason enough to visit the Lone Star State.
Willard and I visited the Blue Bell headquarters years ago and ate our share and more. We bought T-shirts too. I wore mine out before I threw it away.

I'M HAPPY TO HEAR OUR AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS WILL BE WITH US A LITTLE LONGER
The FAA has delayed the closure of the towers in La Crosse, Eau Claire, Janesville, Oshkosh, Waukesha, Mosinee, Kenosha, Waukesha and Timmerman Airport in Milwaukee until June 15. Maybe, by then, we can find some money to keep these towers open.
I'll bet I could find the money in about 15 minutes. The government is spending plenty of money that's going to waste. We could start by taking away the salary of every member of Congress. If that isn't a waste of money I don't know what is considering what we're getting from them.
If it came to a choice of keeping the towers open for the safety of the flying public or keeping the Congress open to play their political games and count their campaign contribution money, I'd pick the control towers every time.

GOING TO NEW YORK? TRY THIS OUT.
FUN FOOD FACT
After dinner at Serendipity 3 on the upper east side of New York, top off the meal with a Frrrozen Haute Chocolate. It's prepared with 28 different kinds of cocoa infused with gold flakes and topped with edible 23 carat gold. You'll be given a solid gold spoon to eat it with and an 18 carat gold and diamond bracelet that will remind you of your "sweet treat".
Oh, I'll bet you're wondering how much this little goodie will cost. If you have to wonder....you can't afford it. If you can afford it, you'll have to fork over $18,713.00.
This is, obviously, not the yummy chocolate sundae I used to make before my kidneys decided I'd had enough.

I suspect a few readers will have doubts that some of the events, in the book, are true. I have no doubts, at all, that this is the real thing.

FINALLY! IT'S REALLY GOING TO FEEL LIKE A SPRING DAY TODAY!
When I got up the temperature was still above freezing. I looked at the forecast and it said, "April showers this afternoon". And the temperature forecast is the best part. They say the high will be around 62 this afternoon. Our first day in the 60's! Yes, Alice, there will be a spring after all.
I WOKE UP, GOT UP, WENT TO THE KITCHEN AND STOPPED. STILL HALF ASLEEP I COULDN'T REMEMBER WHAT TO DO NEXT.

NOT MUCH SUN BUT WARMER TEMPERATURES WILL ARRIVE TODAY.
One look at the thermometer put a smile on my face, this morning. Temperatures were ABOVE FREEZING! That's a good start.
Of course, we can't have everything. Our high will be near 50 today but we'll have increasing clouds with the warmer temperatures. We could even see a few sprinkles between 11 AM and 1 PM
So, is spring, finally, here? Not exactly. The forecast for Friday night and Saturday calls for rain and Saturday night we could get a little bit of snow as the temperatures fall to near freezing.
I'm beginning to think the spring flowers don't have a chance this year.

The weatherman says the warmest it will get, today, is 31 degrees but the sun will be shining and, despite the cold air, it's rays are warm this time of year. Warm enough to cause rising waters and potential flooding. Low spots on secondary roads could, also, cause high water levels and possible flooding.

If all those billionaires put their money together in one pot it would total $5.4 TRILLION DOLLARS and if they divided that money by the number of people living on the earth, each one of us would get $768.37.
By the way, never has so much money been held by so few people. I don't know a lot but I know that's a disaster waiting to happen.

WISH YOU COULD HAVE BEEN WITH US FOR EASTER DINNER
Rita, Roger and I ate at ARCTIC SPRINGS near Galesville and it was out of this world good. They were packed but the service was fast and outstanding. Food was excellent. The bar serves drinks with a very "generous" pour. It was great!
After dinner we "took the scenic route" home through Galesville and then along the river, through Brice Prairie and Midway. Past Grandma and Grandpa Terp's house.
A nice Easter except for the weather. With snow on the ground, ice on the water and freezing temperatures it was more like Christmas weather than Easter weather.

KIDS SAY THE DARNDIST THINGS
The pastor of this Baptist church had called all of the little children to the front of the church, dressed in their cute Easter outfits and had them sit around him.
He said "Today is Easter and you all look so handsome and beautiful. Today we're going to talk about the resurrection. Does anyone know what the resurrection is?"
One little boy raised his hand, and the pastor said "Please tell us what the resurrection is".
The boy, proud that he knew the answer, said in a clear loud voice "When you get one lasting more than four hours, you gotta call a doctor!"
It took a solid 10 minutes before the pastor could speak and there was so much laughter going on that his sermon was probably forgotten - but that boy's voice won't be.

THE WORLD....AT LEAST THE WORLD I KNEW.....IS GETTING SO OLD
Both Richard Chamberlain and Shirley Jones are celebrating their 79th birthdays today and Herb Alpert turns 78.
LIFE IS SO SHORT~EVERY MOMENT SO PRECIOUS~LETTING GO IS SO HARD
You can't help but wonder why but there is no answer to that. Life is only this single moment and it can never be repeated nor replaced. We just have to move on to the next moment, with hope, and be thankful for the moment that has passed. There are no guarantee's. Only this one moment in time.
About a week ago I was blessed to have a moment with Luna. She was such a beautiful little soul. Full of curiosity and wonder and brimming over with love. The moment is now gone. And, so is Luna.
She passed away from our world yesterday but I'm not sad. I can see her playing, in heavens sunshine, with Thunder. That makes me happy because, from what I've seen in my 72 years of life, I know that there are a lot more cats and dogs in heaven than there are people because they're wise enough to know there is only one moment and they make the best of it. And, they hold no grudges, or hate, or regret when that moment is gone.
That moment is all there is. That is all there has ever been.
The blessing is that I had that one moment with Luna and I thank Bert for bringing her into my life.

THE FROZEN ELVIS
THIS IS NOT THE BEST WEATHER FOR EASTER BUT WE'LL HAVE TO MAKE DO WITH WHAT WE HAVE.
The forecast is calling for mostly cloudy skies with wind gusts to 25 mph. Hold on to your Easter bonnet.
WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE
The National Weather Service says the warmer weather has resulted in a lot of melting snow and some of the drains and culverts are still blocked with ice and snow which is causing standing water in ditches and low spots and some of the water is running over roadways.
No real flooding is expected but you should remain alert for any wet spots.
