I totally wiped out my computer this time. So bad that I can't even connect to the internet anymore. As luck would have it I was able to jump on Rita and Roger's computer to pass on the news. But I don't want to destroy their computer too. I'll just stay disconnected from the rest of the world. I think it will be safer that way.
I will just add that I couldn't take the frustration with Picasa anymore so I uninstalled it, thinking and if I re-installed it, maybe, I could make it work for me. I should have known better.
It not only installed Picasa, it also installed Chrome which is also a total piece of S***. Along with Chrome and Picasa it installed a bunch of other junk which I can't delete and can't work around. It took out my favorites, my home page and literally everything else
Now, like I said, It won't even let me connect to the internet so the computer, for all intents and purposes, is a piece of junk. The only thing I can still do with it is play Solitaire. A deck of cards will be a lot cheaper.
Starting a new blog that you may want to check out from time to time..or maybe not. It's up to you!

We've got some rain around this afternoon.
As it does so often, it's staying just north of Gillette Street on the North Side. You might know. We'll probably get a shower. I just finished watering all the plants outside.
Terrell was here today and is coming back tomorrow to mow the lawn. It's growing like crazy and as green as a golf course.
While Rita, Roger, Carl and Kathy vacation in the woods of northern Wisconsin, Donnie and Linda depart for Portland tomorrow afternoon.
From there they are booked for an AMTRAK tour through the Cascades. Sounds like a big change from the Texas scenery they're used to.
I think I did it again.
You remember the other day when I ate the dog treats? Well, this morning I started up the dishwasher and was then getting the kitchen counters cleaned off.
I saw a cookie jar I hadn't noticed before. I looked in and there were a couple of cookies in the bottom. I popped them in my mouth.
Guess what? Those dog treats tasted different than the ones I ate the other day.
By the time Rita and Roger get home I'll be barking and wagging my tail with the rest of the dogs.

Friend, Gary, sent the perfect quote for today.
" I think it is just terrible and disgusting how everyone has treated

tour de France races while on drugs.

I found an interesting article on TwinCities.com that might be of interest to gardeners.
A few Wisconsin libraries are following the example of the La Crosse Library that began a program allowing patrons to share seeds with each other. It sounds like a good idea and a lot of people must agree because it's becoming pretty popular. Click here to read the story.
Yesterdays rain has been replaced with fog this morning.
I hope everyone drives carefully as visibility could be less than a quarter mile during the early morning hours of the day.
After the fog lifts we're in for one fine day with a lot of sun and high's around 80. That sounds good to me. The dogs and I can go out and play on the grass as soon as the dew dries off.

Things are going much better this morning.
I was able to get the coffee made without fighting with the coffee maker. I let the dogs out to do their thing as soon as brewing began. Within minutes they were back at the door wanting to get in. They've each had a "treat" and are now taking a nap before breakfast.

We have a long way to go with this one.

A couple of anniversaries to remember:
Mother and Dad were married 77 years ago today. Grandma and Grandpa Solberg were married 107 years ago today.
It looks like I'll have to sit, inside, watching Renee paint the living room walls today.
The forecast calls for showers and thunderstorms, gradually diminishing this evening. Maybe some lightening and brief heavy downpours but nothing we can't handle.
The only thing is that it might take longer for the paint to dry, today, than it did yesterday. We don't know what Rita and Roger will think of the paint job but we love it...and that's really all that counts.

Day #2 on the farm.
The day started with the roosters, at the B & B down the road, crowing their little heads off. This was just about the time I usually wake up, without roosters, in town. Long before a lot of people have gone to bed.
I let the dogs out to do what they had to do and I turned my attention to the coffee pot. Yesterday Rita had it all set to start brewing so I just had to pour and drink. Of course, I never thought to have her show me how to get it to start brewing.
I realized I should have asked her, this morning, as my nerve endings where crying out for caffeine.
I grew up in the day when you had a choice between "on" or "off". There were no other choices and life was simple. The coffee pot, here, is not like that. It's a machine with clocks, buzzers and many, many, many little buttons...all of which have mysterious little symbols which are totally meaningless to me. There's a mini screen that lights up with more little meaningless symbols. It kind of looks like the control panel for the space shuttle.
I pushed, pulled, it beeped and farted a couple of times. I had the coffee filter filled with coffee grounds. It started to make rumbling noises. I felt sure I would soon have a cup of coffee to settle my nerves.
I turned my attention back to the dogs and went outside to see what they were up to. They were all finished doing what they had to do and were waiting for me, at the door, to let them back in. Now, I could do what I had to do and then I went back to the coffee pot for a good hot cup of coffee.
I picked up my cup, pulled the pot out from under the spigot and feasted my eyes on a full pot of..........hot water. My grandpa Terp never drank coffee. He always had just a cup of hot water. I figured, if it was good enough for grandpa Terp, it was not good enough for me. I've got to have my morning coffee.
Now, the sweat was pouring off my face as I began to worry that I would have to live the rest of my life without the benefit of the coffee bean.
Just about this time, the damn clock on the wall started chiming "Ave Maria" again (as it does every hour, on the hour). That clock is lucky it doesn't have a neck because, if it did have one, I would have wrung it before now.
I started just pushing little buttons, willy nilly, and, suddenly, the machine started to gurgle and wheeze and the pot began filling with.....COFFEE!
I was saved!
I sat down to sip. Then It occurred to me that I have no idea which little buttons I pushed, and stroked, or in what order I did it. I'm beginning to fear I'll have to go through this entire process, again, tomorrow.
Now, it has started to rain. A nice, gentle, soaking rain. It's coming down from Fort Dodge, Iowa to Red Wing, Minnesota to Mondovi, Wisconsin. A pretty wide area of precipitation.
The windows are open, a cool breeze blowing in. I'm watching the rain fall. The dogs are napping. I'm Sipping my coffee. Maybe I won't have to water the flowers this afternoon.
