WE'RE IN GOOD HANDS
Willard was looking up symptoms of high blood pressure and he found, "A doctor at Gunderson Clinic, La Crosse, is the source for the most high blood presssure info on Google."

WILD LIFE IN THE BIG CITY
Even in a big city like Houston you can see the wildlife. Willard reports, "There's a possum sitting in the tree on the patio. A mockingbird, above, is having a ballistic screaming fit. Must have a nest nearby. Buddy is intently watching the drama unfold."

WILDLIFE
You don't have to live in the country to see the wildlife. You can see it in the city too.
WILLARD: "I was having coffee and glanced out the window to see a young possum running across the patio. Buddy was at the screen door. He saw it too and wanted to give chase. I don't think so!"

NEW PLACE FOR YOUR SUNGLASSES
Duane said, "I saw a new trend today. Young men are wearing their sunglasses on the back of their necks rather than on their hair or caps."
I couldn't figure this out, at first, so I grabbed my sunglasses and tried it. Sure enough. It works! I like it better than the "on the head" thing.
Comment from Willard
"Duanes note about sunglasses was started by a Food Network personality, Guy Gerrari who is on "Diners, Drive-in's and Dives".
COMMENT FROM DONNIE
"You boys need to get out more often! Young people have been doing this so long that old people are now doing it.
What I can't bear is the goatee. How much longer are going to have to look at those things? They are very much past their fashion prime.

Willard reported it was 54 degrees in Houston, this morning, while it was 63 degrees here.
I normally hate the month of March. All the dirty snow turns to muddy slush and it's usually dark and dreary and wet and just cold enough to make it miserable. What a pleasant change this March has been!

ANOTHER SIGN OF SPRING?
WILLARD REPORTS
"Just saw a frog catch a bug, for breakfast, on the patio."

WET DOG STORY FROM WILLARD
"I took Buddy out for a walk. It had stopped raining but, of course, it started to drizzle when we got out there. When we got back I toweled him off , as best I could, and gave him breakfast. And...so it goes."
"And so it goes" made me think of Linda Ellerbie so I looked her up on Wikipedia. I didn't know she was from Texas. We went to the same high school in Houston. Lamar High. Yeah Redskins!"

SOUTH TEXAS GETTING NASTY WEATHER
WILLARD REPORTS
"Up at 4:45 with light rain. I'll, probably, stay in. Lightening struck FOUR inbound flights yesterday!"

Have you ever been on a flight that was struck by lightening? I was, on a flight to Denver and, believe me, it will make you sit up and take notice!

IT'S NOT SO WARM DOWN SOUTH EITHER
WILLARD REPORTS:
"It's going to be a cold, wet, nasty day in Houston. With off and on showers, a cold front will come in around noon. This will be a good night for chili."

WILLARD WAS GLAD TO GET THE GLUE TIPS
"Thanks for the tips. Somewhere I have some butane lighter fluid. Wonder if that would work. I do have some WD-40. Might get some GOO GONE."
As a homeowner, I'm having more than my share of solvent experiences (something I never imagined hearing myself say). GOO-GONE is usually effective, but it gets all over your fingers, is greasy and stinks. But I am here to put down Gorilla Glue--it gets a lot of hype and a prominent place in the hardware stores, but it has never worked well on anything I've tried.

Those Texas storms moved into Houston late this morning. Willard said, "It is pouring. Made a dash to get gas and got soaked. Lot's of street flooding all over town."

WILLARD IS CLOSE TO THE ACTION TODAY
"NFL playoff game at Reliant Center this afternoon. That's ALL that has been on the news."

WILLARD HAS A RADIO STORY TOO
"My first radio job was with a Classical Music station in Houston. I was introducing a work by Turina, "The Bullfighter's Prayer". However, my words got twisted and I said, "and now here is the BBC Symphony Orchestra with "The Prayer Fighter's Bull".

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A SENIOR CITIZEN MOMENT?
WILLARD'S LATEST ADVENTURE
"Picked up a jar of Rigatoni pasta sauce and some spaghetti at El Ahorro...was opening the door to the vehicle and dropped the bag with the mushrooms and, of course, it broke!
Was walking back into the store to get a replacement and FELL on the concrete sidewalk!! It's a wonder I haven't broken every bone in my body."
I should talk about "senior moments". Willard is not alone.
I spent half of my morning looking for my pills. They've been in the same place in the cupboard for years but not this morning. I pulled half of the dishes out of the cupboard looking for them. Looked in the refrigerator. Opened all the lower drawers and looked. I even went into the bathroom and bedroom to look. They had, absolutely, vanished.
About an hour later (and nearly in tears) I opened the door under the sink. When I got done with the laundry, yesterday, I apparently picked up the bag of pills along with the laundry detergent and put them both under the sink.
If that isn't an Alzheimer's symptom, I don't know what is.

THE SEASON FOR GIVING IS ALSO THE SEASON FOR TAKING!
IN HOUSTON, WILLARD SAYS:
"Outdoor decorations are being stolen or vandilized. SICK! And people have been advised to have UPS and FedEx packages left or picked up at secure locations as Thieves are stealing them from people's front doors when packages are left and no there's no one home to sign for them."

WILLARD SAYS IT'S GETTING SCARY IN HOUSTON
"Christmas cards are being stolen out of peoples mailboxes. They're looking for cash gifts that people send this time of year.
Burglaries and other robberies are up. At least four bank robberies last week. People are desperate.
An upscale store at Post Oak (Houston's Rodeo Drive) was hit Thursday. Another store hit just a block away.
I am beginning to be concerned about going out even in the daytime."

WILLARD GIVES CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE
"Got a letter from Kimberly-Clark Customer service located in Neenah, wherever that is. I had called them to complain about the poor quality of VIVA towels and, are you ready? They are sending me a refund check for $10.99. Now that is customer service. A RARE occurrence these days!"

WILLARD'S GETTING READY TO HIBERNATE
"In for the weekend, especially Sunday, cold front is supposed to arrive with rain. It will be crockpot chili day".
