I finished reading Bill Bryson's book, "One Summer...America, 1927)", yesterday, and it's filled with a lot of stories about the Babe.  His life on the field was pretty spectacular and his life off the field would have to be rated X!  To put it mildly, the Babe was quite a ladies man!

Reading the Bryson book on the summer of 1927 I found out that Detroit was scheduled to host the New York Yankees for a baseball game which had to be cancelled on May 14, 1927 because of heavy snow in Detroit.
