You get so much forwarded junk from, from folks, in your mailbox every morning. A lot of it is fun stuff but a lot of it is a lot of fantasy.
Today, for instance, I got an email, from a friend, about the "Stella Awards". Awards given to people who, supposedly, have won huge lawsuits over ridiculous claims.
The story, this morning, was one that's been going around for years about a lady in a furniture store who tripped over a kid...her own kid, it turns out, and broke her ankle. The story continues that she sued the furniture store and was awarded thousands of dollars by a jury.
Good story but total fiction. Never happened. Made up.
Since I got this re-hashed story again, you might too. Now you won't have to waste time looking it up to check the facts. I've already done it for you.
Of course, I'm old and do things the old way. In my day you had to check, re-check and check again before you put anything on the air or in print. Today that's all out the window. You hear a good story and just run with it. To hell with the truth. That's what makes TV news in the USA, today, such "entertaining" stuff.
