FOR THE BIRDS

I was just thinking.  Roger has all those birds in the basement and out in the shed.  Why doesn't he have any of these magic birds?

Donnie and Linda are still getting visits from the hummingbirds in the city.

Today is GO BIRDING DAY!

I love it!  This gives me a chance to play one of my favorite novelty songs and we'll add THE THREE STOOGES to it!

Even though Donnie and Linda have moved to town the birds haven't deserted them.

The hummingbirds have found Donnie and Linda's new home!

WILD LIFE IN THE BIG CITY

Even in a big city like Houston you can see the wildlife.  Willard reports,  "There's a possum sitting in the tree on the patio.  A mockingbird, above, is having a ballistic screaming fit.  Must have a nest nearby.  Buddy is intently watching the drama unfold."

If these two can get along why can't we?

IT'S BUZZARD DAY IN HINKLEY, OHIO

I have been aware of the buzzards return to Hinkley for many years but never, really, knew the history of the event so I looked it up this morning.  This is some interesting stuff!  CLICK HERE TO READ ALL ABOUT IT.

The 2011 Christmas Bird Count is in progress this weekend.  Too cold to be counting birds outside but it's nice and warm in Rita and Roger's basement.  Why not count the birds there?

OUT AND ABOUT AT 3 A.M.

Roger has been waiting for a couple of birds that were shipped to him a few days ago.

They, finally arrived.  He said, "Both birds arrived in good shape but, not until 3 am. There sure was not much traffic at that time of day. I might take a little snooooooooze today."
