PERFECT WEATHER

I walked over to Kwik Trip (I was out of doughnuts) and it's a perfect day for January.  Bright sunshine and temperatures above freezing.

The only complaint I have is that there are pools of water in all the low spots on the sidewalks.  That means lots of chances for me to fall down.  Don't think I'll go out too early.

JUST AS I EXPECTED

IT'S A SLIPPERY START THIS MORNING
FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE:
WET ROADS AND SIDEWALKS FROM MELTING SNOW OF SUNDAY ALONG WITH A
RELATIVELY MOIST AIRMASS COULD LEAD TO ICY SPOTS ON SOME ROADWAYS AND SIDEWALKS. DESPITE AIR TEMPERATURES MOSTLY ABOVE FREEZING EARLY THIS MORNING MANY ROADS AND OTHER EXPOSED SURFACES WERE COLDER. AS A RESULT UNTREATED ROADWAYS, SIDEWALKS AND PARKING LOTS COULD ALL DEVELOP ICY SPOTS. TRAVELERS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR THIS POSSIBILITY WHILE MOVING ABOUT EARLY THIS MORNING.

NASTY DAY AHEAD

The weather folks say we could see a thunderstorm south of I-90 today with lightening being the main hazard.

Colder air will move in tonight and any rain could change to snow and freezing drizzle.  There won't be any snow accumulation but there could be some ICING to look out for.

AMAZING WEATHER

Went to the library, this afternoon, and it felt more like a walk in early spring rather than early winter.  40 degrees with bright sunshine.  What little ice we had is melting and dripping off the roofs.

Temperatures are going to be on the warm side all week but nights will get close enough to freezing to produce icy conditions during the overnights and early morning commutes.

I have no problem with the rest winters cold and snow and I can even tolerate the miserable long nights but the ice is more than I can stand....which is what the problem is...I can't stand!!

OH NO! HERE COMES THE DREADED ICE!

FROM THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE

WIDESPREAD FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT WITH LIGHT ICE GLAZING EXPECTED AS TEMPERATURES FALL BELOW FREEZING.

UNTREATED ROADWAYS AND SIDEWALKS WILL BECOME
SLIPPERY. DRIVERS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR SLICK ROADWAYS LATE TONIGHT AND EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING.
