I'LL BET YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO CUT UP A WATERMELON

Now I've seen it all.

I just ran across a recipe for COWBOY TACOS.  Have you ever heard of a taco with APRICOT PRESERVES as one of the ingredients?  Maybe I lived on the border too long but, I can tell you, no taco with apricot preserves will ever go in my mouth.

Maybe it's something you folks with more northern taste buds would enjoy. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE RECIPE

Regardless of what you might think, NOT ALL McDONALDS ARE CREATED EQUAL!

The big eaters come from Nebraska!

It took somebody from Nebraska to win the steak eating contest at the Big Texas Steak Ranch in Amarillo, Texas.

Molly Schuyler ate a 4 1/2 pound steak in 4 minutes 58 seconds.  That was so good, she ate another steak in 9 minutes 59 seconds.

And, get this, Molly stands 5' 7" and weighs 125 pounds.

I guess this shoots down the slogan, "Everything's bigger in Texas".  When it comes to big steak eaters you have to go north to Nebraska!

TUNA TIME

Just got my tuna salad recipe out.  It's going to be a beautiful day with a sunny sky and highs in the low 70's.  As soon as those first spring days arrive, the first thing I think of is tuna.

Some folks think of the green leaves, spring flowers and singing birds.  Not me.  I think of tuna.

WHAT'S FOR DESSERT?  Maybe I'll celebrate the holiday.

PIGGY'S NIGHT!

The cousins are going out to eat at Piggy's tonight.  That's a pretty fancy place for a table full of Norwegians but we'll try to behave.

GRAND STAY....GREAT FOOD!

Donnie is staying at the Grand Stay while he's in La Crosse this time.  Their rooms are, actually, mini-suites with bedroom, living/office area and a small kitchen.  I was really impressed with the accommodations.

Last night he was making himself right at home.

He wrote, "I'm heating Manhattan Clam Chowder I found at Fiesta.  Very hard to find Manhattan Clam Chowder.  The red stuff as opposed to the common white creamy New England Clam chowder).

Finding the Chowder and Entermanns doughnuts, this visit has been a real grocery bonanza.

We paid a visit to Uncle Bob yesterday afternoon.  It's been a while since I've seen him so I was glad to get over there.  He was looking really good and in very good spirits.

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN

It was raining when I got up but not the "heavy downpours" they were forecasting so that's good.

The only plans Donnie and I have made, so far, is breakfast at Fayze's  this morning.  Rain won't interfere with that plan.  The rain should be gone by mid-morning so I don't think the whole day will be a complete wash out.
