Now, to balance out my first cynical comment, here's a more validating one. For a time, in Bolivia, I decided to ask people on the streets if I could take their photos, instead of shooting surreptitiously. 90% smiled and agreed. Of course, that was Bolivia. I'll bet you'd not get that return in the USA, even thiough we have our photos taken, unknown to us, a hundred times a day.
