The Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies recently released their religious census, a county by county study of congregations, members, adherence and attendance across the country.
The study found that the most Christian state in the country is Utah with 78% of the population identifying themselves as Christian. Maine came in as the least Christian state with 27% identifying as Christian. Overall, across the 50 states, less than 50% of the people surveyed identified themselves as Christian.
