"What a beautiful morning we are having. A chilly 51 degrees, but no wind, and the air is fresh and invigorating.
A thin fog earlier left the porch and ground damp, suppressing the dust but raising the rich earth smells.
On the other hand (and you can count on me to find a down side to everything) the pipeline replacement is in its final stages. They're digging and cutting up the old line for removal. The heavy equipment dust is bad enough, but I noticed the old pipes are covered with a fibrous material that is badly worn after 64 years underground.
I'm guessing the dusty air of daytime is now full of asbestos!"
