HOT COUNTRY BRINGS MEMORIES

According to the TASTE OF COUNTRY website, the biggest country hit for the month of August was Dierks Bentley's "DRUNK ON A PLANE".

I want to share it with you because it brings back memories of some great flights I took in my "wild days of youth".

Take the day I stopped at a Sioux Falls bar and woke up the next morning in a Minneapolis hotel room having NO idea how I got there (but there was a plane involved).

 

I won't go into all the details but I guarantee it would make a great movie plot!

 

PIGGY'S NIGHT!

The cousins are going out to eat at Piggy's tonight.  That's a pretty fancy place for a table full of Norwegians but we'll try to behave.

PARTY TIME

Between the ages of 20 and 40 this was my schedule.  I'm happy to see there are younger souls carrying on the tradition.

GOOD STUFF

We were talking about food, on Christmas Day, and I discovered that I have something in common with Paul.  We both LOVE COOL WHIP.  I thought I was the only one who could eat it right out of the container but he does that too.

I love the SKINNER BAKING APPLE DANISH they sell at the CO-OP.  I sliced a big piece of that this afternoon.  It's already got white icing on the top but I piled Cool Whip on top of that.  I'll bet I could have talked Paul into eating a piece of that if he'd been here.

WHY DIDN'T SOMEBODY TELL ME ABOUT THIS PARTY BUSSING THING?

That's the problem with getting as old as I am.  You just can't keep up with all the new stuff that's happening (like the party bus).  I checked out the Minneapolis Party Bus and it looks like great fun!

BIG BLOCK PARTY ON PEARL STREET TONIGHT

It's part of this weekends Bicycle Festival and it sounds like fun but it doesn't start until 4:30 and will go far into the night.  That's out of the question for an old man who is ready for bed by 6 PM.

There's going to be a lot of live music with three bands playing throught the evening.  Sometimes I wish I was 21 again. Then there are other times when I'm glad I'm not.

It will be held at the Onalaska Aquatic Center from 10:00 AM until 2 PM.

It's $10.00 for one dog and $5.00 for each additional dog and the money goes to the Humane Society.

I haven't heard if Rita and Roger plan on taking their three darlings.  I know the darlings would love it.  I'm not so sure about Rita and Roger.
