Only a 20% chance for thunderstorms around here today.

I saw a big area of rain around Bob and Lynne and Eric and Bert this morning.

LOOK WHAT BOB AND LYNNE HAVE IN THEIR BACK YARD!!!

LYNNE WRITES
"Now we have wild turkeys in our woods.  It has been a few years since they came for a visit but this morning I spotted two of them.  They didn't come to the bird feeders as in the past.

When you mentioned the Platters, I thought back to our first cruise in 1993.  The guests were the Platters with one of the originals performing.  He saw me with my camcorder and came to the edge of the stage, smiled and waved at me."

SPEAKING OF TURKEY

No rain around here this morning.

Looks like all the stormy weather is southeast of us.  Radar was showing some pretty good thunderstorms moving over Janesville.  That, probably, put Bob and Lynne's yard work on hold.

SNIFFLE TIME

LYNNE SAID: "Two of us caught colds and I am one but I am trying to fight it off.  Can't remember when I have had one.  Strange without any snow.  We don't complain but I do feel sad for the kids with sledding, skating, and all who love the outside sports.  As long as roads are clear, it doesn't bother me.  Of course, I stay home if roads are bad."

A SURPRISING PHONE CALL

Aunt Wilda called from Viroqua this afternoon which was a surprise.  I thought she was with Bob and Lynne but her doctors decided it would be wise for her to stay close.

She's been so terribly nauseated and they can't figure out what's causing it.  They've done several tests and she's supposed to hear from the clinic this week.

She did have a bit of a holiday, however.  Bob spent a couple of days with her, before Christmas, in Viroqua.

The doctors said she could, maybe, go later after they figure out what's wrong.

AN UPDATE FROM LYNNE

"We are going out to eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. It is Mexican and not Americanized so really good and the service is awesome. Not eating a thing until we go as there are big meals.

I am trying to finish my Christmas cards today and get them sent out by tomorrow. I got too late a start this year as too many other things pending.

Bob is planning to bring his mom down Friday and weather sounds like it will cooperate. Strange with no snow on the ground. We have had very little so far.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year."

LYNNE WRITES:

"I must try "Nice" on our clothes. Bet it is cheaper than the name brands too.

Good fine on American Eagle airlines. That would be horrible to sit on a plane that long. I want to get up and down as fast as possible.

Peanut Butter Vodka? Never tasted it but I would think I would prefer peanut butter on toast (especially slicing a banana on top).

I had a busy week as Delilah(Daniel and Jon's dog) and Mittens(nephew Carl's 19 year old cat) stayed at the same time. They got along just fine and we had many cute times with them.

Daniel and Jon were in Florida with Sandy in Ft. Myers. Carl and the family were in Ketucky. Daughter, Ellie, almost 12, competed in Horseback National Competitions and went undefeated in all. She has so many ribbons and trophies. We are all very proud of her.

We had 2" of snow the other day but it melted quickly. We are not liking the darkness so early now but nothing we can do about it."

Lynne reviews the TEXAS ROADHOUSE.
"I see, on your blog, that you have a Texas Roadhouse going in.  We ate there once and it was so noisy we couldn't even talk to Jennifer's mom and dad who were sitting across from us.  We prefer eating out at places where we can have a conversation.  We drive by it and it is busy all the time but we won't go again."

THE LATEST FROM LYNNE

"I am working hours and hours each day editing photos and camcorder films from the past 1 1/2 years.

We have a yard full of leaves but the trees still have lots to fall.  I have used the leaf blower three times so far so Bob could do his final mowing.  The cleanup is done by a few guys we hire.  No more back breaking work for us."

A NOTE FROM LYNNE

"We have had 1 1/2" rain in the last 3 days and looks like more is coming. We are hoping for a sunny warm day on Saturday as we are going to the tailgate party at the UW stadium with Derrick and Jennifer. No game tickets though. Jennifer's brother has a yearly turkey boil and lots of other food.

Last Saturday we went to the Warrior Dash in Twin Lakes and watched Sandy's kids and spouses climb walls, run, and the last was jumping into a mud pond to the end line. I camcorded the event. What a muddy mess. Here is a photo. Then we went back to Sandy's for a party celebrating her son, Carl's, 40th birthday. All participants were cleaned up before they got to her house. :-)

I GOT NEWS FROM LYNNE THIS MORNING

"We had a good time with Mom B down with us for three weeks. We went to Daniel and Jon's for a celebration, to Sandy's for another good time with all her family there. Beautiful weather so many got out on the boat. Her son, Chris, is a fantastic boat captain and already has his two young sons tubing.

All Sandy's kids were in a Warrior Dash, which is climbing over walls, jumping over fire, jumping into a mud pond. I camcorded all of them. They are in marathons also.

Now I am editing all the film I took and getting it on dvds. I work hours a day as have 1 1/2 years of camcorder movies to edit onto dvds. I love working on all this but will be nice to get caught up. Then it will be working on photo books.

There won't be much more time working outside on the lawn and flowers so will get more done on other projects."

AUNT WILDA CALLED TODAY

We talked about 20 minutes and she sounded so good. She was with Bob and Lynne for three weeks so she had a long vacation. Now, she says, she's home until Thanksgiving.

WEATHER STATEMENT

I just saw there's a special weather statement for Rock County about the possibility of funnel clouds forming this afternoon. I hope none develop near Bob and Lynne.

AUNT WILDA CALLED

She just got back from a two week stay with Bob and Lynne.  Dawn was home and they spent a few days at Lake Geneva with Sandy so it sounds like they had quite a time.

Bob and Lynne had also been up north so they're all on the go.

Aunt Wilda said she's feeling good these days.  That's always good to hear.

Sounds like they had quite a storm around Janesville last night.

A year or two ago I had pictures on the blog of a silo in Bob and Lynne's area that has a roof in the form of a large pumpkin.  The pumpkin had blown off in a storm.  They replaced the pumpkin, which is a landmark in that area but last night another storm came through.

Lynne said, "Unbelievable as it was just installed two weeks ago tomorrow. I was up and the trees were blowing but not that bad.  All we lost were two dead branches and lots of twigs and small leafy ones. $35,000 pumpkin and the installers were putting in extra supports. Bob just called and the man who owns the silo said he will go after the installers as they undoubtedly didn't put the extra that was needed to prevent this.  It is a landmark in this area."

LYNNE REPORTED IN FROM VIROQUA

Bob and I drove up yesterday morning to spend some time with Mom.  We haven't spent much time outside as way too hot for humans.  We did drive to the cemetery yesterday and I weeded and pruned flowers and Bob watered on grave sites of my Grandma and Grandpa Enerson, Mom and Dad's, and Dad Blair.  Looks very nice.  Flowers are loving the weather.  They did need water though.

Today we have just lounged around talking.  Of course, I can't just sit so I have edited, saved, made dvds of many of my camcorder films.

In a few minutes we are ordering fish dinners from The Viking to enjoy in the comforts of home.  Then we take off for home again and in the morning leave for Daniel, Jon, Derrick, and Jennifer's for a couple days.  Not sure what all we will be doing there but know it will be fun.

AUNT WILDA HAS ALL THE NEWS!

Another beautiful day but I didn't get outdoors.  I am bothered by my balance again so I decided I had better stay where I can hold on to things.  It's much better now.

Called brother Bob and he was ready to go to the hospital so now I wonder what he found out.

I wrote to Linda for her birthday.  No rain must be tough when things will not grow.  The grass on my lawn is really growing since we had six inches of rain in one day.

Bob and Lynne are coming this week.  Hope the weather is nice so we can sit on the porch.  I like to sit there when I eat if it is warm.

I had a letter from Cousin Mary.  Frank was diagnosed with kidney cancer.  Mary had the same surgery five years ago and she is fine now.

Trig called last week.  He has bought another store.

A REPORT FROM LYNNE

Bob and I celebrated our 47th anniversary last night at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Hacienda Real, right here in Janesville.  Our anniversary was June 20.  Daniel, Jon, Derrick and Jennifer were home that weekend so we had fun with them then.

The story of the violinist was so interesting.  People are in such a hurry, anymore, that they don't stop to enjoy what's around us.  I have camcorded many people who are entertaining on the streets or in parks on our travels.  There is so much undiscovered talent.  And, we really enjoyed the article on the woman named Viroqua.  I sent that on to many.
