WEATHER

All was quiet.  No thunderstorms overnight and the only rain on the radar, early this morning, was well to the northeast of us.  There is a 50% chance for a thunderstorm later today but we'll, mostly, enjoy partly sunny skies and a high around 80.  That's just about normal for this time of year.

KIMCHI CHRONICLES

Shshi day is a good day to mention that a new show coming to PBS in July is called the Kimchi Chronicles and it's hosted by world famous chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten (who owns 31 restaurants) and his wife, Marja, who is the master of Korean cuisine.  The show is part cooking and part travel so it should be interesting.  I'm looking forward to watching it.

FATHER TIME

I watched a Seinfeld re-run this evening.  I noticed on the closing credits that the show first aired in 1997.  Can you believe that?  It was 17 years ago.  I'm thinking the Seinfeld show was just a couple of seasons back and here there are kids getting getting ready to graduate from high school next year who don't know Seinfeld from a day without a cell phone.  I want those kids to really, really, really enjoy that youth because you blink and it's over!

STORMY WEATHER

We had a couple of nice days but we can't expect it to last...and it won't.  The weather service says Thunderstorms are possible every day from Saturday through Thursday.  The best chance is Monday through tuesday night.  If we get any thunderstorms this weekend they're not expected to be severe.  Too early to tell about any storms later in the coming week.

BACK PAIN

Just caught a great article on sleep positions and back pain.  I know I'm not the only person with that problem so I'm passing it along.  It's from MAYO CLINIC.  Click here BACK PAIN to check it out.

VIROQUA

THIS SOUNDS PRETTY WILD FOR VIROQUA:  They call it the INFLAMMATI FIRE CIRCUS AND THAT DAMNED BAND OF 999 EYES FREAKSHOW.  It's going to be in Viroqua Tuesday night and I'm betting they didn't run that one past Aunt Wilda before they booked it.

BOOKS

I'm reading "Radio Shangri-La" by Lisa Napoli and I love it.  Napoli is a journalist who has worked for the New York Times, MSNBC, CNN, etc. and this is her story of going to, what has to be, the most interesting and littlest known country in the world, Bhutan, where she helps set up the countries first FM radio station for young people.  It's a fun book and a fascinating true story.

LA CROSSE

Early morning view of our new city bus terminal.  It's not Grand Central Station but it sure is a nice place to wait for the bus where you can get out of the rain, snow, ice and wind.

WILLARD REPORTS FROM HOUSTON

At 5:45 A.M. the heat index is 91.  The forecast in one word is HOT.  Morning dog walk in the neighborhood before it gets too hot.  Evening walk after 7:30.

MY DAY

LAUNDRY DONE BEFORE 8 A.M.
NOW WHAT?

AMAZING

Donnie alerted me to this website JAMES EARLE FRASER about this sculptor who was born in Winona, had a home in Mitchell, South Dakota, had a lot of contact with Indians and the history of Little Big Horn and looks, a lot, like a Terpstra.  Now, if that isn't a coincidence I don't know what is!
