Duane did yesterday.

"Power outage at West River Electric substation.  I was at Tractor Supply and they gave me a flashlight to shop.  That was an experience!

It was 43 in the hills Monday night.  44 here in town.  No wonder the furnace clicked on!"

Another weekend coming up....another round of thunderstorms coming with it.

Look at Tuesday.  See that RECORD COLD I don't like that!

HOW LONG CAN THIS AWFUL WEATHER GO ON??

Another day of clouds and chilly weather with temperatures not getting out of the 50's.  We should see some sun this weekend but temperatures won't get warmer than the mid-60's.  Hopefully, we might get to 70 by Tuesday.

 

FROST WATCH

Can you believe this?  Almost June and we're still worrying about FROST!

MINNESOTA ANNIVERSARY TODAY

Minnesota became the 32nd state on May 11, 1858 and was originally settled by a lost tribe of Swedes seeking refuge from the searing heat of Wisconsin 's winters.

A LOUSY TIME TO VISIT WISCONSIN

Looks like it will be cold and wet while Donnie is here.  That will teach him not to even think about coming north until July or August!

"I will pack for chilly weather.  Those warmer clothes are still being worn here too.  Austin's nights are dropping into the mid-40's and even at mid-afternoon it's cool in the shade.  Remarkable for May in Texas."

Note to Donnie: Bring warm clothes.

We may get up to 60 for Saturday but temperatures will stay below normal for the next two or three weeks.  High's while you're here will still be mostly in the 50's and low 60's according to Weather Underground.  KELO-TV in Sioux Falls says they expect cool temperatures the whole month of May.

 

 I'm still thinking there won't be much summer this year.

I walked to the clinic, this morning, and nearly froze to death.

I got about half way there and started wishing I would have worn my parka.  I see we've got some light snow in the area and I'm not surprised.

By the way, the doctor says I'm in great shape to last another year.  Kidneys are stable.  No worse than they were six months ago.

We're going to get a break today!

We'll finally see some sun today and tomorrow.  Unfortunately, it's right back to rain Saturday night through Monday.

 

And, don't expect any warm-up.  Afternoon highs will range from the upper 50's to low 60's with nighttime temps still in the 30's.

 

Seriously folks, I'm beginning to wonder if we're going to have a summer.

I'd just like to SEE a little spring and summer.  So far, all I've seen is wet, cold, clouds and wind and I'm getting a little pissed. 

MID-APRIL COLD

This isn't the first time the 15th of April has felt more like winter than spring.  On April 15, 1949 Caledonia and Gays Mills both reported 6 inches of new snow.

ANOTHER HARD FREEZE

Another bad night for the tender new plants.  The 3 A.M. temperature at Sparta and Black River Falls was 21 degrees.  It was 30 in La Crosse with a wind chill of 24.

Today's high is expected to be around 50.  That's warmer than it has been but still well below the normal of 58 for this time of year.

The only real good news is that it won't be so windy today.  That wind was miserably cold yesterday.

I'M NOW WITH RITA

I CAN'T STAND ONE MORE CLOUDY DAY!!!

Enough is enough.  So dark out, you have to keep most of the lights on so you can see what you're doing.  I just took the garbage out and nearly froze in the couple of seconds I was out.  Came upstairs and checked the weather and we have a wind chill at 34 degrees at 9:45 A.M.  If I was a bird I'd turn around and fly back south.

BRING BACK THE GOOD OLD 80 DEGREE DAYS!!

I was getting ready to go to Festival and decided I should check radar for rain and the thermometer for temperature.

No rain to worry about but 38 degrees sets off all the alarm bells in my brain.  I miss that week we had when I could walk outside in a T-shirt and be comfortable.  I'm hoping we get some more of those days but the weather has gotten so goofy, I'm not counting on anything.

TOO COLD FOR MY BLOOD

We had a high of 58 yesterday and I was cold all day.  I noticed this morning, however, that our normal, for this time of year, is 51 so, I guess, I can't expect any more that what we have.  Please understand, however, that I still reserve the right to bitch about it.

WINTER ISN'T QUITE OVER

I see the forecast calls for lows in the high 30's tomorrow night.  No freeze but it's too close for comfort with everything budding and blooming.
