Joe Orso's column in the LA  CROSSE TRIBUNE, this morning, features a story about a HOUSE IN VIROQUA that has NO FURNACE and, yet, it's 63 inside while it's 8 below outside.  That warm, comfortable, inside temperature comes only from the sun and doesn't cost a single penny!!

TREES

The Emerald Ash Borer has been found in the town of Medary.  This can be a real tree killer.  With about 6200 ash trees on city property, in La Crosse, lets hope they can contain the pest.  La Crosse is filled with such beautiful trees.  I hate to see any of them come down.

ARE WE DONE WITH THE STORIES ABOUT THE BIG TSUNAMI IN JAPAN?

The troubles from the tsunami that hit Japan, in March, will be with us with us for years to come.  Right now there are parts of cars, houses, furniture, and everything else you can think of, floating in the Pacific.  Tons of stuff.  And, it will start washing ashore on the beaches of Hawaii by spring and arrive in San Francisco by 2013 or 14, give or take a month or two.
