Looks like Donnie and Linda will get some rain today. That should make them happy.

DONNIE IS WEARING ME OUT
Good thing Donnie is departing
tomorrow. We're having lots of fun but it's not easy for an old man like me to keep up! We're off to West Salem today and there will be a stop at Linda's Bakery!

Donnie and Linda were serenaded by WILLIE NELSON this afternoon!!
Donnie said, "This is just a few blocks from our apartment and we can (kind of) hear it from our balcony."

NOW THAT DONNIE AND LINDA ARE LIVING IN TOWN, IT WON'T BE SO FAR TO DRIVE TO AUSTINS MANY CELEBRATIONS.
If there's any city that can come up with a reason to celebrate, at the drop of a hat, it's Austin, Texas.
The next big event is the Pecan Street Festival May 3rd and 4th with
street art, music acts, street magicians and crowds that usually number around 200,000 for this "fest". Sounds like a good party to me!

If you're in Austin, Texas you don't have to go "out to eat". The "eats" come to you!
Living in Austin, I don't think Donnie and Linda ever have to worry about finding a place to eat. I PASS THIS LINK ALONG because it has some excellent photos of some of the more than 2,000 restaurants on wheels in Austin, Texas! That's what I call taking meals on wheels to the extreme!!!! But, that shouldn't surprise you. Austin takes almost everything to the extreme!

The new sod Donnie and Linda Laid is between the house and the tree line.
Once they got it laid Donnie made a large chalk sign on the driveway, hoping God would see it.
God must have seen it. It's been raining ever since he chalked his plea.

This should make Donnie and Linda happy.
When Donnie was a little kid, he used to call every big lake we saw, "A big drink of water."
The big drink of water in the Texas Hill Country is Lake Travis and it makes me think of the Johnny Cash hit, "How High's the Water, Mama?"
The lake has risen 3 feet since yesterday and it's up 11.3 feet since January 1.

Donnie and Linda are out of touch.
"An outcome of last night's thunderstorms is a failed internet connection at home. I am reporting from the Dripping Springs public library."
Donnie and Linda must be living right.
Donnie reports:
"Nearly 3 inches of loud rain last night. The most we've seen at one time in, maybe, two years. It arrived perfectly to soak my newly-laid sod.
True to form, it was nowhere near the 5 to 6 inches forecast but it certainly was enough to get the creeks flowing."

Donnie and Linda survived yesterdays yard work but they're paying for it today.
"Mighty stiff and sore but still some sod to lay today. It will be weeks before we get the soil and stones distributed."

IT'S BUZZARD DAY IN HINKLEY, OHIO
I have been aware of the buzzards return to Hinkley for many years but never, really, knew the history of the event so I looked it up this morning. This is some interesting stuff! CLICK HERE TO READ ALL ABOUT IT.
The picture isn't showing a Hinkley buzzard. This is the buzzard that got lost and ended up at Donnie and Linda's house.
