This fall will be the last time Oktoberfest runs for 9 days.  Beginning next year it will be cut back to the way it started out with a four day celebration that will run Thursday through Sunday.  I think that's a good idea.  Four days of festing is more than enough for most people.  For me, at my advanced age, it's way too much.
