"Racoons have discovered our wildlife cafe, and have knocked two bird feeders to the ground to get at contents. Night-owl Linda spotted one at 2 a.m., in the tree right outside her window.
We will have to scale back our hand-outs for a while to break the coon habit. They are cute, but destructive and dangerous. At least deer don't try to take up residence in attics."
