Summer Heat to Return Mid Week
After a brief cool down Monday and Tuesday, temperatures will soar mid-week to unseasonable readings.
High temperatures will likely reach the lower to mid 90s on Wednesday and Thursday. The potential exists for temperatures to be even warmer. There won't be much relief at night either, with lows expected to drop into the mid and upper 70s.
Although the atmosphere will be relatively dry, heat indices across Iowa and southern Wisconsin could reach the upper 90s to near 100 in the afternoon hours Wednesday and Thursday. Precautions should be taken if planning to be outdoors for periods of time. Stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade.
Below you will find summer heat climatological, normal, and record information.
