Capitalism was supposed to be a competitive system that produced the best quality product at the lowest possible prices. But the corporate competition tends to monopoly, and when one or two companies dominate a product or service, it leads to lower quality products at highest possible prices. We see it happening in all areas--transportation, energy, health care, education, food production, communication, even entertainment--consumers at the mercy of huge global corporations that have no loyalty to any single nation, and whose only objective is to make money for stockholders.
