WHAT'S IN A NAME?

Here's a bird Donnie can go looking for.  It's not much to look at but I love the name.

This is a Chachalaca bird that you'll find from Texas to Central America.

The name, Chachalaca, comes from the Nahuatl language of South America and, in english, is means "gossiper".  Why?  This bird never shuts up.  It "tweets" and chatters constantly.

You, probably, never heard of the bird and you probably didn't know there was a Nahuatl language, did you?  Neither did I until I read it in Birds and Blooms a really neat magazine Rita and Roger get.  It's great for the gardener and bird lover.
