It's a full moon tonight. One of the many names for the full moon, in July, is the FULL THUNDER MOON. Thunder would like to think they named it after him but, actually, thunderstorms are the most frequent this time of year and so it got that name.
An interesting fact from NASA. This will be the smallest full moon of 2012. The moon is now at apogee, as far away as it gets, so it will appear 12% smaller than the full moon of January 10.
