When I moved back here, the Doerflinger building was, practically, empty. Today there's a story in the La Crosse Tribune READ STORY HERE that the building is, again, at full occupancy, for the first time since the department store closed in the 1980's. It's been a slow process but downtown is coming back to life, day by day.
I remember, not so long ago, I could cross the street when I wanted to, without waiting for the "walk" light. Now, with so much more traffic you have to "wait for the walk" again. I love it!
