GUNS

Donnie read the story about the brisk sale of guns in Wisconsin and said, "I'm reminded (once again) of a Bob & Ray skit in which a German immigrant arrives in the 19th C. American West. His name is Hans Upmeyer, but fearing confusion over a foreign name, he shortens is to "Hans Up," and quickly discovers that every time he introduces himself out on the frontier, people give him their money."

FACEBOOK

OK.  I'm already in TWITTER so might as well add FACEBOOK too.  I started updating my Facebook page this morning so, if you don't see it here, you'll probably see it there.

ST. IVES

LOOK WHAT I GOT FROM DONNIE AND LINDA!

I love St. Ives products and this should be enough moisturizers to fight my dry skin for what little is left of this life.

DONNIE'S THOUGHT:
"And the St. Ives people damn well better send you a small commission for this ad!"

BLOG READERS

HELLO CANBERRA!
We had a reader in Canberra, Australia this morning.  How's the winter down under?

It will be around 90 in Houston and 93 in Austin today.  I wish they'd share a few of those degrees with us.  Rita and I have both decided that we've had it up to HERE with rain, clouds and chilly weather.

FROM CARL

A study conducted by Harvard University found that the average Wisconsinite walks 900 miles a year.  A study by the American Medical Association found that a Wisconsinite drinks about 22 gallons of alcohol a year.  This means, on average, Wisconsinites get about 41 miles to the gallon.  Kind of makes you proud to be from Wisconsin.

BAD VIBRATIONS

I haven't heard any rumbles from Donnie and Linda, this morning, but I have heard about some vibrations in Austin.

It's been going on since early this morning when the houses in a north Austin neighborhood began vibrating.  Police have received several reports but have not, yet, found a cause.  It will be interesting to see what Donnie and Linda have heard about it.

CRICKET

THE CHIRPING HAS STOPPED
Thunder tracked Mr. Cricket down and alerted me to his find.  I moved in for the kill.  Jiminy has chirped his last.

RAIN

Donnie and Linda are getting some rain, this morning, too.

SUPER MOON

CBS NEWS has a great shot of last nights SUPER MOON on their web site: CLICK HERE  We, of course, missed it with all the clouds and rain.

The earthquake in Washington obviously was the government's fault.

FROM BERT

"We are in Hot Springs Village in Arkansas.  The good news is we made it safe and sound.  The bad news is the air conditioning in my car broke down.  Then the A/C broke down in the first condo they put us in.  It was 91 degrees here.  I had to change my clothes twice today.  A/c works in the new condo!  YEAH!!!!
I'm going on a pontoon boat.  Can't wait."

Donnie says: "Linda's step-father lives there.  We have visited often.  I assume you'll be taking the thermal baths."

I
f a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port, and the bus is interrupted at a very last resort, and the access of the memory makes your floppy disk abort, then the socket packet pocket has an error to report.

If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash, and the double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash, and your data is corrupted cause the index doesn't hash, then your situation's hopeless and your system's gonna crash!

If the label on the cable on the table at your house, says the network is connected to the button on your mouse, but your packets want to tunnel to another protocol, that's repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall.

And your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss, so your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse; then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang, 'cuz sure as I'm a poet, the sucker's gonna hang.

When the copy on your floppy's getting sloppy in the disk, and the macro code instructions are a necessary risk, then you'll have to flash the memory and you'll want to RAM your ROM, and then quickly turn it off, and be sure to tell your Mom!
