2012 Severe Weather Awareness Week Information
Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week is coming!
In cooperation with state emergency management agencies, the National Weather Service (NWS) uses this week to remind people about the dangers of severe weather, including thunderstorms, flash flooding, and tornadoes. It is important you know what to do when severe weather strikes. The La Crosse National Weather Service has a severe weather preparedness page with links and useful reference material.
A Tornado Drill is also conducted during the week in order to test warning dissemination methods and communication.
