It was July first, 1838, that Ole Knutson Nattestad arrived in Wisconsin. He smelled the clean, fresh air and said, "This will never do. Let's cook up some lutefisk." Ole was the first Norwegian to settle in Wisconsin but he wouldn't be the last. Lena was hot on his heels.
