No one has confirmed a cause, yet, but a manhole, right in the middle of 3rd street, caved in yesterday afternoon leaving a big hole in the middle of the street.
Traffic is now being detoured to 2nd street which will, most likely, cause traffic backups during the busy part of the day. With the weekend coming up, I'm guessing it will be several days before things are back to normal.
