Where there's a will there's a way.

Another sign that fall is here.

FROST is possible in parts of central Wisconsin tonight.  There's a good chance for THUNDERSTORMS around here tomorrow afternoon through Thursday night.

Good one you'll, probably, forward to all your friends.

The new Forbes List of Richest Americans is out and Bill Gates is still on top with $72 billion.

Siamese twins walk into a bar in Toronto and park themselves on a bar stool.

One of them says to the bartender, "Don't mind us; we're joined at the hip. I'm John, he's Jim and we are from New York City and we love Toronto, the theatre and Canadian Beer, so two Molson Canadian beers, draft please."

The bartender, feeling slightly awkward, tries to make polite conversation while pouring the beers. "Been on any other holidays yet, lads?"

"Off to England next month," says John. "We go to England every year, rent a car and drive for miles. Don't we, Jim?"... Jim agrees.

"Ah, England !" says the bartender. "Wonderful country... the history, the beer, the culture..."

"Nah, we don't like that British crap," says John. "Hamburgers and Molson's beer, that's us, eh Jim? And we can't stand the English - they're so arrogant and rude."

"So why keep going to England ?" asks the bartender.

"It's the only chance Jim gets to drive."

THIS WEEKS BIG EVENTS:

TODAY: MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY

WEDNESDAY: RITA'S BIRTHDAY

THURSDAY: FULL HARVEST MOON

FRIDAY: ANNIVERSARY OF UNCLE ED'S BIRTH 1907

Happy 89th birthday to one of the all-time greats; Lauren Bacall.

A cool, crisp morning in La Crosse.

53 degrees at 5:00 A.M. with a wind chill of 51.  Yes, we're back to the "wind chill days" again.  But, we're not quite finished with summer yet.  By Wednesday and Thursday we'll be up around 80 again.

Happy Independence Day Mexico! I love you!!

I was so happy to see that Bob Newhart FINALLY got an Emmy Award.

Considering the fact that he was on TV for more than 50 years with some of the funniest shows EVER, it is a disgrace he didn't get one before now.  It kind of makes you think that those silly award shows have more to do with whose ass you kiss rather than how much talent you have.

Remember "The Fugitive"? I had forgotten all about that show.

Interesting item from Donnie:

"A Yahoo! story on "best places to celebrate Oktoberfest in the USA" does not mention La Crosse but does mention Glendale(?), Wisconsin among the top 7.  La Crosse is mentioned in the comments section."

The rain finally got here. A nice, gentle soaking rain. That's just what we need.

Happy Birthday to Prince Harry, the FUN ONE of the family! He's 29 today.

This is a clip from last years Barbara Walters show featuring the 10 most fascinating people of 2012.

How many times have you washed your hands today? This is International Clean Hands Week.

Go Packers!

National Rehabilitation Week starts today. Perfect timing for Bob Blair considering he's hobbling around on one leg these days.

R.I.P Salustiano Sanchez.

Salustiano passed away in western New York at the age of 112.  He said the secret to his long life was that he ate a banana every day.

112 years times 365 days in a year comes to 40,880 bananas.  That reminds me of the old Woody Allen movie, "Bananas" from 1971.
