THIS IS ONE OF MY TWEETS TODAY

The gentleman who is intereviewed in this clip is the author of the book I recently read about the North Korean prison camps.

BACK IN THE DAYS WHEN COMEDY WAS REALLY FUNNY

TWEET TIME

EVERYWHERE I WENT, THIS MORNING, PEOPLE WERE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SNOW

It came down pretty hard for most of the morning.  I haven't seen any totals yet but it was more than an inch.  It has ended now and, every once in a while, it looks like the sun is trying to come out but it can't quite break through the clouds.

ST. PATRICKS DAY IS ALMOST HERE AND THIS IS THE PERFECT CAKE TO GO WITH IT

It's got beer in the batter and irish booze in the frosting.  You know that's gotta be GOOD CAKE!

I COULD JUST SIT DOWN AND CRY......

RAPID CITY IS EXPECTING HIGHS IN THE 70'S TODAY

Does your chewing gum lose its flavor?

Aunt Wilda was telling us that Mother was always chewing gum when they were kids.

With that fresh in my mind, an article caught my eye, this morning, that says chewing gum can raise your metabolic rate by about 20%.  I wasn't even sure I had a metabolic rate so I looked it up.

Of course, I couldn't understand what they were talking about but it has to do with your body while its at rest.  If that's the case, my body has has a lot of it because it's "at rest" most of the time.

I'll bet you didn't know that people have been chewing gum since the stone age.  Prehistoric people chewed tree resin and folks have been chewing ever since.

American Indians chewed tree sap and when the early European settlers arrived they mixed beeswax with the tree sap to make an easier chew.  That sounds like a tasty bit of goo.

The first commercial chewing gum was not introduced by the Wrigley's.  It was presented to the world by John B. Curtis in 1848.  It was called "State of Maine Spruce Gum".

Try writing a jingle for a product with a name like that!

Interesting fact.....

OLD WISCONSIN CHEESE MAKERS SAYING.....

A good wine starts with a good grapevine.

A good cheese starts with a good bovine.

The world now knows that the best cheese comes from Wisconsin

Marieke Penterman, from Thorp, Wisconsin won the top honor at the U. S. Championship Cheese Contest which was held in Green Bay.  The top cheese is a Wisconsin Gouda and that's gouda-nuff for me.

WE STOPPED IN CASHTON ON THE WAY HOME FROM VISITING AUNT WILDA

No.  I didn't have a drink.  I always look like this.
No!  I really didn't have a drink.
I just look goofy in a hat.

TOO CUTE.

I noticed a post, on Twitter, for wienerfest.

This intrigued me so I clicked on it.  I should have known it's celebrated in La Crosse, Wisconsin.  The celebration is held in early May and one tweet wondered what this years T-shirt should look like.  A Wienerfest T-shirt!  I think I need one of those!

WHERE DO THE MOST PEOPLE BELLY UP TO THE BAR?

The Bloomberg Report says more people smoke and drink in Europe than anyplace else.  Smoking, maybe, but drinking?  Are you sure they included Wisconsin in that survey?

A little chilly in Dripping Springs, this morning, too.

I noticed, at 5 A.M., it was 46 degrees.  That's the kind of weather that creates "frosty Texans".

Just how big is the TRAVEL industry? It's REALLY, REALLY big!

Do you like to travel? from WTTC on Vimeo.

The National Weather Service says we could get some snowshowers this afternoon and tonight.

Due to the recent rainfall and and snow melt there could be some flooding and ponding of water today.  The snow showers may drop another half inch of snow on top of the dirty stuff.

We're off to Viroqua this morning.

Roger has a doctor appointment to have his knee checked so Uncle Bob and I will go along, with them, and we'll visit Aunt Wilda.  That's two days in a row we'll be together.  The party never stops.

Yo mama. Still around.
