The Grand Central Station Show Choir won their third Grand Championship at the big contest in Sioux Falls this past weekend. The Central High Choir ranks #19 in the National Show Choir ratings.
A NEW RECORD HAS BEEN SET AT LAMBEAU FIELD AND IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FOOTBALL
The famous football field is filled with CHEESE this week. The U.S. Championship Cheese Contest is in full swing and they have a record setting number of entries this year....1,700 cheeses are in the running. The judging to find the grand champion will be tomorrow and Wednesday.

OUR WINTER STORM WARNING HAS BEEN CANCELED
Looking out the window, this morning, it doesn't look like we have too much new snow on the ground. The National Weather Service says the biggest snowfall has been around 6 inches north of a line from Charles City, Iowa to Black River Falls in Wisconsin. I think we missed the big one they were forecasting which is fine with me.
Today's forecast says we could get another inch but the worst of the day will be blustery north winds up to 17 MPH and with a high temperature of only 31 degrees it's going to me a miserable day to be outside....especially when you consider we're only 9 days away from spring.

BANG BANG
A new survey in the NEW YORK TIMES, this morning, shows that gun ownership has dropped from 50% in the 1970's to 35% today. Another indication of how a small group of loud mouths and a ratings and entertainment driven media and some big contributions to a few politicians campaigns can blow a story totally out of proportion.

The CDC says there's a new virus on the loose. The virus arrived in Britain with an elderly man who had come from visiting Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The old man says, "I know sir, but she's got a wonderful personality and she's a great cook."

POLITICIANS RUNNING THE CIRCUS??? I DON'T THINK SO BIMBO
Interesting article in the WISCONSIN STATE JOURNAL today. The Governor thinks the state should take over the running of the CIRCUS WORLD MUSEUM in Baraboo.
We already have more than enough clowns in Madison. Lets keep the circus clowns in the hands of the circus people who know how to run "the greatest show on earth".
If the politicians want to "join the circus" let them walk behind the elephants and clean up the crap. Nobody in the world can throw crap like a politician.

THE PINE RIDGE STORY
PBS is featuring a film festival, during the month of March, with some beautifully done short films worth watching. One of them is a film about the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
Many summers ago, our news director and I made several trips to Pine Ridge doing a series of radio interviews with the people there.
Those visits totally changed my life. It changed my view of our government, our country and our beliefs. Like the gentleman who made this film, I am on the side of the American Indian and, until my dying day, I will be on the side of the American Indian.
I remember talking to one of the last medicine men born in the late 1800's. I asked him what he thought about all the changes to the land he had seen in his life time. He said, "We were here thousands of years before you came. We'll still be here thousands of years after you'e gone."
