Jacob celebrates his birthday with President Obama today. This is the anniversary of the U.S. COAST GUARD which was founded in 1790. It wasn't called the Coast Guard in those days, however. It was known as The Revenue Cutter Service. Whatever the hell that means. And, it was on August 4, 1830 that they drew up the plans for the city of Chicago.
