A solution to our problems
Midwestern oil tycoon Warren Buffett presented his quick
and easy solution to America ’s debt problem on CNBC:
“I could end the deficit in five minutes. You just pass
a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more
than three percent of GDP all sitting members of congress
are ineligible for reelection."
But, of course, that won't work because we delight in watching these people in congress dig our graves and then VOTE THEM BACK INTO OFFICE THE NEXT TIME THEY RUN SO THAT THEY CAN DIG THE HOLE DEEPER.
"WE" can't pass a law. The president can't pass a law. The supreme court can't pass a law. Only the congress can pass a law. There are NO "checks and balances" on congress except the American people.
So, the bottom line is; what "WE" have is EXACTLY what "WE" deserve.
