Folks in La Crosse County spent money like crazy last year. In fact, they spent $2.04 BILLION. That's a new spending record for the county.

Recession or not, Americans quickly get bored with frugality (sorry, Ben Franklin), and whatever the consequences, we will spend like there's no tomorrow...which is how the wise men always tell us to live. And sure enough, pretty soon there is no tomorrow.
