The latest from the National Weather Service.

NORTHWEST WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 40 TO 55 MPH OVER THE DAKOTAS INTO WESTERN AND NORTHERN MINNESOTA WERE OCCURRING IMMEDIATELY BEHIND AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT. EXPECT THESE STRONG WINDS TO SPREAD NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE REGION BETWEEN 3 AND 6 PM AS THE ARCTIC FRONT MOVES THROUGH...THEN PERSIST THROUGH MUCH OF THE EVENING.

THE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY DIMINISH AFTER MIDNIGHT. PLAN ON TEMPERATURES TO PLUMMET AS WELL AS THE STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS DRIVE IN ARCTIC AIR. ST CLOUD MINNESOTA DROPPED NEARLY 10 DEGREES IN 1 HOUR WITH THE PASSAGE OF THE ARCTIC FRONT.

EXPECT READINGS ACROSS THE REGION TO FALL INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS AND LOWER TEENS BY MIDNIGHT.
