As a homeowner, I'm having more than my share of solvent experiences (something I never imagined hearing myself say). GOO-GONE is usually effective, but it gets all over your fingers, is greasy and stinks. But I am here to put down Gorilla Glue--it gets a lot of hype and a prominent place in the hardware stores, but it has never worked well on anything I've tried.
