I'm pulling for 61 year old Roy Lester. He was a life guard for 40 years at Long Beach New York until he was fired in 2007. Roy wanted to wear biking shorts to take the annual swim test. The state told him he had to wear the bikini swim suit. Roy says no one, his age, should be forced to wear a bikini. He's got that right.
Roy sued the parks and recreation department and the lawsuit was thrown out of court. But, now, a court of appeals has reinstated the lawsuit and Roy will get his day in court.
He says making the bikini swim suit mandatory is a way of getting rid of the older life guards. I have a sneaking suspicion that Roy is right. I've seen a lot of 20 year olds that should not be allowed to wear a bikini. There are a lot more bikini's out there than there are bikini bodies.
