The Travelers Choice Awards for 2013 have been picked by travelers around the world. The #1 hotel in the USA is The Four Seasons at Kailua-Kona on the big island of Hawaii. And, would you believe, those travelers picked the very same Four Seasons Hotel in Hawaii as the best hotel in the world.
With room rates starting at $1,125.00 a night it had better be good. That rate, by the way, is for a room with one king size bed. If you'd like something a bit more elegant you'll have to dig deeper into your pockets.
Working for Four Seasons was a great experience. It was the first time I realized there actually were enough people, in the world, who could afford to pay those prices and they nearly filled us up every night.
I've worked in those places where money is no object and places where folks are "looking for a deal" and who are the easiest to serve with the fewest complaints? The rich ones every time!
When I was in Hawaii we stayed at Kailua-Kona but that was long before The Four Seasons arrived. Kailua-Kona was a beautiful paradise to visit but, from what I've seen, it can't hold a candle to the San Blas Islands of Panama.
