I was thrilled to hear that the La Crosse Committee of the Whole voted, unanimously, last night to endorse the plan to turn the 160 acre Hixon Forest bluffland into a park rather than hand it over to "developers" to bulldoze the trees for their ticky-tacky housing developments.
More than 100 citizens filled the council chambers supporting the plans for a new park.
