Today is the day we honor Sir Henry Cole who designed the first Christmas card in 1843. Sir Henry lived, of course, in merry old England and he also designed a very successful tea pot which was, originally, manufactured by the Minton Pottery Company which, later, merged with Royal Doulton.
If you've ever watched "Keeping Up Appearances", on your PBS station, you know all about Royal Doulton. If you haven't seen the show, you've missed one of the funniest British comedy's ever made.
