I GIVE UP. AT 74 THERE ISN'T ENOUGH TIME LEFT FOR GREAT THINGS.
I think I'll just go for a few half-assed things.

There are those who have more talent than time, and leave great works unfinished...and there are most of us who have more time than talent, and even our best works are lost in our years. Some of the more interesting "greats" are those who have more time than talent. Sibelius and Rossini produced almost no music in the last 20+ years of their lives. George Sanders left a legendary suicide note saying he'd done all he wanted to do in life and was bored with the rest, saw no reason to go on. That strikes me as a very sound mind.
