Chocolate has a long history in the Americas. It's just one of the great things that originated in the Amazon Rain Forest, which we're doing our best to destroy as quickly as we can.
We humans have been eating it for a long time too. Cocoa residue has been discovered in 4,000 year old pots, at archaeological sites near Vera Cruz, Mexico.
