It was two months before I would be born. March 13, 1940. It was snowing in La Crosse. It had begun to fall during the evening of the 12th. It continued snowing all day on the 13th through the morning of the 14th. When it was over, La Crosse had 8.6 inches of snow on the ground.
Tomorrow, 72 years later, our high will be near 80.
