St. Olaf of Norway, who was born in 995, Died on July 29, 1030. After his death, he was given the title of Norway's Eternal King.Olaf was confirmed a saint in 1164 by Pope Alexander III which makes him a confirmed saint of the Roman Catholic Church.
I'm not quite sure why he was given sainthood since he's historically known to have been extremely violent and brutal. During his lifetime they called him "Eric the Fat".
I'm beginning to think that they set the bar very low for saints in those days.
